Nice family place. The whole facility is very family friendly! Yet is good for all ages.

We absolutely love the "Beach Bar". We usually visit at least once a week during the summer. It's as close to a real beach as you can get in the area. The food is good and sometimes the frozen drinks are good. My one complaint is that they don't have a more elaborate frozen drink menu, this is a "beach bar" after all. There have been a few times when I have gotten the frozen hurricanes and they were so icy I couldn't drink it. Food wise-My husband loves the bacon cheeseburger! The chicken finger melt is also very tasty! The fries are great!! Editing this review for 2015-they now have a tropical drink and frozen drink menu!!

Solid go-to local bar. Drinks and service are always great. Bowling can be a bit of a wait but we grabbed drinks to make it better. Food is typical for bar food, the chicken finger melt is delicious, as well as the Hot Honey BBQ wings. Atmosphere has a lot of the RMU college kids coming over, so it can be mixed. I have yet to be here when the "beach bar" is open but will definitely be back to check it out.

This place could be a 5 star reviewed yelp place but falls short in a few places. First the good. The bowling alley part of the place is AWESOME. All new lanes with scoring computer that still seem to keep the look and feel of an old school alley you would see in the movies. The location is super easy to get to and the river front is beautiful. Now for the bad. I walked down to the riverfront area and saw they had a outside bar. This bar was closed as it was 4pm in the summer (why I dont know) and there was TRASH everywhere. A cleaning crew really could have taken an hour and cleaned all this up. The dock area is VERY dated and practically unsafe. My son almost fell off the docks as they are warped beyond repair. Now on the inside the place looks fairly decent. It could be cleaner but it does look like someone cleans the place once a day. My son and I bowled and played the ticket games. Only half the games actually worked. Sure they powered up and the lights flashed but a few wouldn't take our tokens and a few other would take your money but never validate that you put any money in. This really made my 4 year old frustrated as he kept dumping money in machine that wouldn't let him play before I figured out what was wrong with them. The food here is also less that to be desired. I had an Angus burger that was nothing more that a frozen beef patty from the grocery store on a grocery store bun. I may come back because it was cheap and close to my house to bowl but that is it. Again, this place could become very popular if cleanlinessa and food quality were improved.

Love the beach bar...favorite summertime go to place. Mini vacation feel. Food is ok, drinks aren't too expensive. Shoes off toes in the sand.....priceless!

Worst experience ever. While waiting for our lanes to open up (they didn't reserve them for us even though we called ahead of time) we sat at the bar. The bar tender is sexist. If you are a guy, she instantly waits on you. If you are a girl you'll be waiting for a while before you even get asked if you need anything. Also if you're a guy you get away with using profanity but she is quick to tell about females using profanity. I won't be going back.

This is our favorite and to-go bowling place. The cosmic bowling is amazing for people who just want to go drink and have fun. They have "game" bowling where it's technically not actual bowling. You compete against other lanes for prizes which is a blast. The bar is also very large with reasonably priced drinks.

Definitely not what you'd expect from a bowling alley on Neville Island! I cannot speak to the food, but the drinks are good, fairly priced and it's a good place for a girls' night out in the summer months. Drawback is the bathroom situation. They're porta potties in a little trailer type of thing. It's very strange, but bearable all other things considered. Boats pulling up with happy party goers disembarking is fun. The dance floor is also a plus.

My husband and I really enjoy the little beach bar in the back. The food is pretty good for a bar and is cheap. The atmosphere is relaxed, it's a nice place to just unwind by the river in the summer.

We come here often and this is by far the worst service I've had sitting at the bar. The "bartender" is sitting at the end of the bar counting her tips rather than taking care of the clients that are sitting here with empty glasses. We're so frustrated that its caused me to actually open the Yelp app to write this review as I'm sitting at the bar.

Situated on the banks of the Ohio River on Neville Island, just across the bridge from Coraopolis, is Paradise Island Bowl and Beach. To call this place a bowling alley is doing it a huge disservice. Sure, the bowling facility is fantastic, with gleaming lanes, comfortable, couch-like seating, and a wide variety of leagues to participate in. And like any self-respecting bowling alley, it has a selection of video games, food, and drinks, but it has so much more to offer. For example, how about a beach volleyball court? Yup, it's got one. How about a covered patio area off the restaurant where you can people watch while enjoying a tasty beverage or meal? It's got one of those. Or an outdoor sports bar where you can watch the game while enjoying the cool breeze coming off the Ohio River? You'll find it just down the sandy trail at the edge of the parking lot. Or, if you don't feel like bellying up the outdoor bar, how about an entire beach with tables and chairs to kick back and enjoy a hot summer day or cool summer evening? You actually walk through the beach to get to the bar! It's unlikely I'll get to experience Paradise Island again, as I was only passing through for work. But if you get the chance, please pay them a visit and dig your toes into the sand once for me.

This place is a true hidden Jewel in PA. My sister-in-law lives in neighboring Altoona, PA and she took the wife and I along with all the rug rats and her husband to this "Diamond in the Ruff" in Neville Island, PA a few years ago. I had to write about it because i have yet to see anything else like it in all my travels. We were visiting her for her b-day which is near memorial day, and she wanted to go out to a place that both her and the kids would enjoy. When we arrived i immediately saw a nice outdoor dining area, and A BEACH...THAT'S RIGHT A BEACH ALONG WITH A VOLLEYBALL COURT. The Ohio River was flowing right beside the beach and they even had a bar right on the beach that you could walk down to from the bowling alley. The bowling alley was huge with plenty of lanes, pool tables, games for kids...and even a snack bar. The service was superb and the staff was great. The kids had a great time...and my sister-in-law seemed so relaxed so it was definitely worth the trip from Altoona. Now while i can't remember how to really get to this beautiful hidden jewel in PA...if you ever near pittsburgh, maybe state college or Altoona PA ask about Neville Island and i am sure someone will be able to guide you to this "Diamond in the Ruff". Eat, Drink, and Be Merry my friends!!!!

like the idea of the beach bar.. love the reggae night and feel of the place and ability to come via boat. The service is horribly slow and food is mediocre at best... normally cold from sitting up at the bowling alley kitchen.

The beach part is only open during the summer and the time that I visited it was VERY crowded, especially around the bar area. That being said, Paradise Beach offers a fairly cool and unique setting given the area, and their food is also very tasty. Bars with dancing and loud live music aren't really my thing, but the food here was good enough (and cheap enough) that I will be back again.

I have to agree with the reviews so far that this is a hidden gem. Not many bowling alleys in Western PA strike a good balance between a serious bowling alley and a kid/family friendly place. Your serious places are sometimes VERY old school and musty. While the kid/family oriented ones then to be full of distractions that don't allow those of us somewhat serious bowlers show off what we can bowl. Enter Paradise. The facilities are easy to get to, you can come in through Coraopolis or right into Neville Island from I-79. The lanes are gleaming from excellent lane care and waxing. The balls are in good condition and there's plenty of weights available with different finger-hole diameters. And while there's music and lights ... unless you're at a cosmic bowling ... you can have a fun time and still bowl-bowl. It's a slightly longer drive to Paradise then to AMF from where my friends and I live, but I think we'll make the drive out to Neville Island since Paradise has a lot more to offer that we haven't had a chance to try out!
